Resident Advocacy Webinar: Making Differences Within and Outside of the O.R.

Do you want to be in the room where it happens?  Curious about ways big and small you can advocate for the specialty? Wondering if it’s even possible to be involved in advocacy when you’re a resident? Dream of holding public office one day?
 
If so, join the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) on Tuesday, May 2 at 7 p.m. CT for an advocacy webinar specifically for residents!  This will be hosted virtually as a panel discussion with ASA members who have walked the walk as both advocates and residents.
 
Dr. Sam Page, Chair of the ASA Committee on Governmental Affairs (CGA) and Dr. Paul Yost, ASAPAC Board Chair, will be holding an interactive panel discussion with:

• Dr. Antonio Conte, Chair, CGA Task Force on Advocacy Education
• Dr. Julius Hamilton, Resident Scholar alumni, ASAPAC Board Secretary
• Dr. Kenisha Muse, Resident Scholar alumni and CGA member
• Dr. Dev Vyas, Resident Scholar alumni

ASA President Michael Champeau, MD, FASA will give opening remarks for this informational webinar.  Resident members will be able to hear from these ASA leaders about their experience and suggestions, as well as ask questions about advocacy involvement including the ASA Grassroots Network, ASAPAC, ASA Team 535, LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE, ways to be involved and first steps to take.
