Recently, Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Denis McDonough appointed American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) member Patricia Nwajuaku, MD, to serve on the Veterans and Community Oversight and Engagement Board, Federal Advisory Committee. As a member of the advisory committee, Dr. Nwajuaku will provide advice and make recommendations to the Secretary of VA in determining how best to use the West Los Angeles VA in a Veteran-centric manner so that Veterans will receive superior care and support.
After completing her medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a Master of Public Health from Columbia University, NY, Dr. Nwajuaku completed her anesthesiology residency at the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital and a fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and was recently appointed as the Medical Director for Clinical Operations, Quality, Safety and Education, Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital Operating Room, in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UCLA.
