ASA president talks repurposing anesthesia ventilators for COVID-19 patients on NPR

In a March segment on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” Mary Dale Peterson, M.D., MSHCA, FACHE, FASA, discussed conversations with White House officials on how ventilators used to provide anesthesia in the O.R. could be retrofitted and converted to work in the intensive care unit. She explained how nearly half of the 70,000 available ventilators could be repurposed to treat people with coronavirus.
