Former Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) grantee Michael S. Avidan, B.Ch., M.B., FRCA, will lead a new trial testing the anti-malaria drug chloroquine to determine whether it can prevent COVID-19 or decrease its severity. With $9 million in philanthropic support, the COVID-19 Research Outcomes Worldwide Network (CROWN) Collaborative will test an estimated 30,000 health workers worldwide.
