ASA, SOAP Respond to JAMA Pediatrics Study on Labor Epidurals and Autism

A joint statement issued, by the ASA, Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP), Society for Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), to reassure pregnant women that a study published in JAMA Pediatrics did not provide credible scientific evidence that labor epidurals for pain relief cause autism was featured on U.S. News & World Report on Oct. 13, among other outlets.
