In the article, Jodi Sherman, M.D., co-author, chair of ASA’s Committee on Environmental Health, discussed the new guidance, published in Anaesthesia, which provides actionable steps to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions from inhaled anesthetics without compromising patient care. “First, there has to be a very simple recognition that climate change is a problem, and second, that health care is part of the problem," she said.
