Ninth annual Physician Anesthesiologists Week reaches millions across the country

An ASA release urging Americans to contact federal lawmakers on the importance of maintaining physician-led anesthesia care for our nation’s Veterans has resulted in more than 900 online placements, including the Chicago Tribune, Houston Chronicle, LA Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and SF Gate, reaching an audience of 163 million. Other news placements in recognition of the week include the Florida Daily Herald and Florida Politics. Additionally, 16 proclamations or resolutions recognizing the week have been issued from state governors or legislatures in Alabama, California, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Texas, and Utah. ASA members from across the country spread the word on social media, including 845 tweets with over 2.5 million impressions and 146 uses of the #PhysAnesWk23 hashtag on Instagram.
