OIG Releases Letter Outlining Changes to Self-Disclosure Program

The Office of Inspector General released an open letter to providers outlining significant changes to its Self-Disclosure Program, which was created to help resolve matters giving rise to civil monetary penalties under the anti-kickback statute and physician self-referral laws. The changes narrow the scope to better allocate OIG resources in addressing issues, though OIG urges providers not to draw any conclusions about their enforcement of the self-referral law.
