Earlier today the Senate Finance Committee voted on two amendments to the America’s Healthy Future Act (as modified),
The first, an amendment offered by Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), would have created a public plan based on Medicare payment rates. The amendment failed by a vote of 8 to 15.
The second, offered by Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) would have created a public plan with negotiated payment rates. The amendment failed by a vote of 10 to 13.
