Senate Finance Committee Rejects Amendments That Would Create Public Plan
Earlier today the Senate Finance Committee voted on two amendments to the America’s Healthy Future Act (as modified),
The first, an amendment offered by Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), would have created a public plan based on Medicare payment rates. The amendment failed by a vote of 8 to 15.
The second, offered by Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) would have created a public plan with negotiated payment rates. The amendment failed by a vote of 10 to 13.
