The ACGME released updated proposed standards on resident work hours, supervision, and professionalism announced in the June 23, 2010 edition of the New England Journal of Medicine. ACGME Chief Executive Officer, Thomas J. Nasca, MD, MACP, provided an overview of the proposed standards in an open letter. There is a 45-day period for open comment on the proposed standards, available on ACGME’s website.
