Dr Don Berwick to Receive Recess Confirmation as CMS Administrator

President Obama intends to appoint Dr. Donald Berwick as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), via a recess confirmation.   Since this will be a recess confirmation, Dr. Berwick will bypass Senate hearings and will only be allowed to serve in this capacity through December 31, 2011.
