With the increasing interest in and emphasis on accountable care organizations (ACOs) as a potential model for recognizing savings under Medicare, ASA President Alexander A. Hannenberg, M.D. has identified a task force to address this issue in anticipation of a CMS proposed rule prior to year end. Under the direction of Dr. Norm Cohen, this group will serve as ASA’s experts on ACOs and will work closely with the Washington staff to help formulate our position and develop relevant information for the membership.
