California Court of Appeals Sets Date for Oral Arguments in CSA and CMA v. Schwarzenegger
The California Court of Appeals, 1st Appellate District, Division Four has set the date of January 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. for oral arguments in the appeal of California Society of Anesthesiologists (CSA) and California Medical Association (CMA) v. Schwarzenegger. In October, the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) filed an amicus brief on behalf of the appellants, CSA and CMA, which focused on the grave consequences of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s (R-CA) decision to opt-out of the federal requirement for physician supervision of nurse anesthetists, including the performance of interventional pain management procedures by nurse anesthetists.
