The House of Representatives has passed H.R. 6079, "Repeal of the Obamacare Act" by a vote of 244-185. The vote, similar to previous repeal votes, largely followed party lines. All Republicans voted for repeal with five Democrats joining them, including Reps. Mike Ross (D-AR), Mike McIntyre (D-NC), Larry Kissell (D-NC), Dan Boren (D-OK) and Jim Matheson (D-UT). This legislation would repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and did not offer a replacement.
Senate Democratic Leaders have rebuffed previous attempts to repeal the law by opting against considering the legislation and are likely to maintain this course. This effectively kills the repeal effort until the next session of Congress.
