ASA Receives Update From Noridian About Reprocessing of Denied Claims for Monitored Anesthesia Care

Noridian Administrative Services recently made changes to the Medicare claims processing system related to the Monitored Anesthesia Care Local Coverage Determination (LCD 24332).  Unfortunately, these changes had unintended consequences and Noridian has reprocessed claims that had been incorrectly denied.  A mass adjustment was completed on January 14, 2013. Noridian states that no provider action is needed to receive corrected remittance advices (RAs) and payment, if appropriate.
