ASA, Other Medical Groups Address CMS on Potential Release of Medicare Physician Data

In a joint letter to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the ASA joined 46 other medical organizations and the American Medical Association in offering suggestions and concerns regarding the potential release of Medicare physician data.  The letter called on "CMS to partner with physicians to develop policies that will promote the reliable and effective use of this information" and to "carefully consider how use of this data may change over time, and the role it may play in the evolving Medicare system."
