CMS Announces End-to-End ICD-10 Testing Opportunity

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has updated previously announced information to provide more information about opportunities to make sure your practice will be ready to submit claims with ICD-10-CM codes for services provided on/after October 1, 2014.  MLM Matters® Number SE1409 has been revised to include:

• Information about crosswalks for ICD-10-CM codes used on Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs)
• An announcement of a second week of acknowledgement testing in early May 2014
• Notice that CMS will conduct End-to-End testing in late July 2014 Participants will be selected from those who volunteer to participate. This is an important opportunity.  CMS will issue more information on how to volunteer later this month (March 2014)
