CMS announced late last night, September 30, that groups seeking to participate in the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) through the Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO) have an extended the registration deadline to Friday, October 3. GPRO is one of several options physicians may use to participate in PQRS 2014 and is available for practices with two or more individual eligible professionals (EPs).
PQRS is a voluntary reporting program that uses a combination of incentive payments and payment adjustments to promote reporting of quality information by EPs. For the 2014 reporting period, PQRS includes incentive payments of 0.5% for satisfactory reporting and payment adjustments of 2% for unsatisfactory reporting.
Physicians and other EPs who have been using the claims-based, registry-based, EHR or Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) reporting options for PQRS this year are unaffected by this announcement and do not need to register for GPRO.
If you or your practice has questions on how to register for GPRO or to set up an IACS account, please contact the QualityNet Help Desk at (866) 288-8912 or via email at [email protected] from 7AM- 7 PM CST.
For information on PQRS, please visit the ASA Frequently Asked Questions page or contact the ASA Quality and Regulatory Affairs (QRA) Department at (202) 289-2222 or at [email protected].
