On December 17, 2014, Lawrence (Larry) Epstein, M.D., Immediate Past President of the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA), was appointed to the New York Board of Medicine by the Board of Regents for the New York State Education Department.
Dr. Epstein serves in the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) House of Delegates as well ASA’s Committee on Bylaws, Committee on Governmental Efficiency and Effectiveness and its Committee on Pain Medicine. He is also the Director of Outpatient Pain Management in the Department of Anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Epstein received his Medical Degree from the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University and completed his Anesthesiology Residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. Epstein’s term will begin December 2014 and conclude December 2019. Dr. Epstein is the second physician anesthesiologist appointed to the New York State Medical Board, joining James B. Armstrong, M.D., whose term expires in 2017.
