AQI NACOR Releases QCDR Measure Specifications for 2017 Reporting
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the
final QCDR qualified posting last Friday, approving the
Anesthesia Quality Institute National Anesthesia Clinical Outcomes Registry (AQI NACOR) to share its QCDR measure specifications. Physician anesthesiologists and other clinicians reporting to the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) via AQI NACOR's Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) option can report both MIPS and AQI NACOR QCDR measures to meet MIPS Quality component requirements.
CMS approved fifteen measures for AQI NACOR QCDR participants to report, in addition to
31 MIPS measures. The QCDR measures include:
- Adherence to Blood Conservation Guidelines for Cardiac Operations using Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB) – Composite
- Anesthesia: Patient Experience Survey
- Application of Lung-Protective Ventilation during General Anesthesia
- Assessment of Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG): Post-Operative Renal Failure – INVERSE MEASURE
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG): Prolonged Intubation – INVERSE MEASURE
- Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG): Stroke – INVERSE MEASURE
- New Corneal Injury Not Diagnosed in the Postanesthesia Care Unit/Recovery Area after Anesthesia Care
- Perioperative Cardiac Arrest – INVERSE MEASURE
- Perioperative Mortality Rate – INVERSE MEASURE
- Postanesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Re-intubation Rate
- Prevention of Post-Operative Vomiting (POV) – Combination Therapy (Pediatrics)
- Procedural Safety for Central Line Placement
- Surgical Safety Checklist – Applicable Safety Checks Completed Before Induction of Anesthesia
- Treatment of Hyperglycemia with Insulin
