ASA Member Joins Advisory Board of National Summit

ASA is pleased to announce that ASA First Vice President Mary Dale Peterson, M.D., FASA, has been appointed to a position on the Advisory Board of the National Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit, the nation’s largest meeting addressing the opioid crisis.

This summit unites professionals from communities and groups working to address rising opioid abuse. During the summit, stakeholders have the opportunity to meet and discuss prevention and treatment mechanisms and hear from notable speakers. In 2018, ASA sponsored the summit and, as part of two panels, lead presentations describing ASA’s leadership in addressing the nation’s opioid abuse epidemic.

The Advisory Board is in charge of guiding conference development using the expertise of members’ respective fields. As a board member, Dr. Peterson will help develop the summit’s agenda and educational sessions.
