ASA Member Appointed to the Medical Board of California

On June 15, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) appointed Cinthia Tirado, MD to the Medical Board of California. ASA congratulates Dr. Tirado on her appointment and applauds her service to the profession.

Dr. Tirado, is an Associate Professor within the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of California-Davis Medical Center. Dr. Tirado completed medical school at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

The Medical Board of California is comprised of 15 members. Upon Senate confirmation, Dr. Tirado will be the first physician anesthesiologist to serve on the board since 2017 when the term of Michael Bishop, MD expired.

Physician anesthesiologists serve on medical and osteopathic boards in approximately half the states. These are extremely important administrative agencies where physician anesthesiologist representation is essential.
