COVID-19 Non-clinical FAQs for members

I am on an ASA committee or editorial board and have a meeting coming up. Is it still taking place?

• Meetings scheduled through May will either be held as virtual meetings or postponed. Please contact your committee chair, ASA staff liaison or email [email protected] with specific questions or concerns.
• ASA will reimburse you for any cancellation penalties you incur related to scheduled ASA travel, provided proper documentation.

I am on an ASA committee or editorial board and I would prefer to not travel to the committee or editorial board meeting. How do I cancel my air and hotel reservations? Will I be reimbursed?

• If you prefer not to travel at this time, we respect and support your decision. Please take care of your travel-related cancellations (air, hotel) directly where you booked them or through ATC.

• Note that if you cancel a flight, you will receive a non-transferrable credit voucher to use for a future flight.

• Please also inform your staff liaison that you will not attend in person. Remote participation will be enabled through virtual meeting technology. Your staff liaison can provide details.

My employer or institution instituted new travel restrictions and protocols that prohibit me from traveling to an ASA event or meeting. What should I do?

• Please let us know the specifics about your institution and its imposed protocols. It will help ASA further evaluate decisions about meetings and events, and will help us evaluate impact to business continuity. Email [email protected]
