Because criteria vary between the 2014 and 2015 editions, clinicians may report different measures in 2017 depending on their adopted EHR. Members with 2015 or a combination of 2015 and 2014 technology can report on the ACI performance category objectives and measures correlated with Stage 3 or Modified Stage 2 of Meaningful Use. Clinicians with 2014 CEHRT will report the 2017 Advancing Care Information Transition Objectives and Measures.
If participating in the ACI performance category in 2018 and beyond, clinicians must adopt 2015 CEHRT to receive credit under the MIPS ACI performance category. The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has developed a comprehensive database of certified EHR technology. As more versions of 2015 CEHRT become available, ONC will update this resource for those seeking to make EHR purchasing decisions. For additional questions, ONC can be reached by e-mail or by phone at (202) 690-7151.
ASA has prepared a list of resources related to EHR implementation.
