Accreditation and Credit Designation

The American Society of Anesthesiologists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

The American Society of Anesthesiologists designates this enduring material for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

SSTmoderate - Overview:
Ensure that non-anesthesiologist physician and team members providing Moderate Sedation have the critical clinical information and best practice guidance for their care of routine patients undergoing moderate sedation care.

At the start of each module, specific learning objectives are identified. Animated and interactive content is presented to teach about each learning objective.

Patient safety is of the utmost importance when administering sedation. Safe Sedation Training - Deep Sedation (SSTdeep) was developed based on ASA guidelines for non-anesthesiologist physicians seeking privileges for deep sedation, to ensure the highest standards in patient safety.

After completing the three SSTdeep components, you will be equipped with the skills needed to keep your patients safe.

SSTdeep Online Didactics include:
1. Advanced Airway Management
2. Deep Sedation Pharmacology
3. Circulatory Monitoring and Support
4. Deep Sedation Team Dynamics and Practice Management

Mentored Practice - The objective of the mentored practice component is to include clinical experience on patients. It will also include a general and customizable framework for facilities to use to assist non-anesthesiologist physicians to acquire skills in deep sedation.

Simulation Experience - The simulation experience will educate and assess the participant’s skills in deep sedation topics. Note, SSTdeep program purchase price only includes registration for Simulation Experience training.  Hotel, airfare, and other expenses are not covered by program purchase price
