CAPE Nomination Information
The ASA Center for Anesthesia and Perioperative Economics (CAPE) focuses on long-range (e.g., two to five years) ASA economic strategy as it relates to regulation and legislative initiatives. CAPE also supports anesthesiologists and their groups/departments with economic dynamics of facilities, health systems, and private payers. CAPE strengthens ASA’s capacity to advance the specialty’s long-term economic-related goals by defining strategy, proposing regulatory solutions through policy position papers and resources, and developing economic models for ASA members and their groups to use locally.
CAPE analyzes the impacts of current policy through a long-term lens and maintains a proactive approach toward changes in the health policy landscape. While short-term hurdles will always exist, CAPE focuses on advocating for economic policies that will sustain the specialty well into the future.
With support from ASA staff, CAPE Members will submit timely reports to the ASA Administrative Council and other updates during the ASA governance year, including those submitted directly to the ASA Board of Directors and House of Delegates.
Interested members may submit their nomination to be a CAPE member through July 1, 2026 at 12 pm ET. CAPE membership will likely be limited to 10-15 members.
