ASA leaders address VA proposal to replace physician anesthesiologists with nurses in surgery in Modern Healthcare

ASA President J.P. Abenstein, M.S.E.E., M.D., and Immediate Past President Jane C. K. Fitch, M.D., commented on the proven model of care in which physician anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists work together as a team to ensure high-quality and safe anesthesia care in the VA.
